My meeting with Jean-Pierre Perreault and Le Groupe de la Place Royale in 1980, in the context of \u00c9v\u00e9nement 42 (1981) and then in the part of Stephen Raptis in Calliope (1982) was crucial in my career. I was influenced by his world, his work process and inspired by the man and the artist. This is what led to my involvement with Fondation Jean-Pierre Perreault between 1993 and 2001, to create and disseminate some of his choreographies and choreographic installations.<\/em><\/p>\n – Marc Boivin<\/p>\n In 2006, in close collaboration with Ginelle Chagnon and the support of a strong new Board of Directors, Marc Boivin became president of Espace Perreault Transmission chor\u00e9graphiques<\/a>, now dedicated to the protection, dissemination and promotion of the artistic legacy of the renowned choreographer who died on December 4th, 2002.<\/p>\n Redefining the mission of Espace Perreault comes when more and more people, both in Canada and abroad, are concerned with the continuity and lastingness of choreographic art. In association with prominent partners, including Biblioth\u00e8que et Archives nationales du Qu\u00e9bec (BANQ) where the Jean-Pierre Perreault Fund was introduced, the Foundation is actively involved in this quest for the preservation of dance legacies and the promotion of our rich choreographic heritage.<\/p>\n Inaugurated in September 2016, the digital platform\u00a0EC2<\/a> explores different traces and memories of dance. It invites visitors to recreate and re-enact, to reflect and discuss. It showcases the multiple ways in which contemporary dance in Quebec is documented and transmitted from one generation to the next.<\/p>\n
